Its construction centers on a four-pass shell and tube layout with a 5.13-inch diameter shell, 18-inch shell length, and approximately 23.65-inch overall length. Material selection for this configuration includes a Brass hub, Brass shell, 0.25-inch Copper Nickel tubes, Cast Iron bonnets, and optional zinc protection. Operating limits are 250 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 350°F maximum temperature. The B/SB platform is commonly used for hydraulic power units, lube oil systems, and general industrial cooling duty. Optional copper nickel tubes, bronze bonnets, and zinc anodes make the series attractive for more corrosion-resistant water service.
